What we do

Dead River Coffee Roasters operates a working roastery at 119 West Baraga Avenue in downtown Marquette. We roast single-origin beans in small batches, selecting coffees from direct-trade producers across East Africa, Central America, and the Pacific.

Every bag is roasted fresh to order. We work with shade-grown, traceable beans—sourced for quality and sustainability. The roasting process is hands-on: we monitor density, color development, and crack stages by ear and eye, adjusting air flow and temperature to bring out each origin's distinct character.

Whether you're brewing at home or seeking wholesale roasts for your café or restaurant, Dead River offers roasts calibrated to your method and taste. Visit the roastery to sample, or order online for delivery across the region.

Medium Roasts

Balanced roasts with sweetness and body, retaining origin notes while introducing subtle caramelization. Excellent for espresso.

Dark Roasts

Deep, rich roasts with pronounced body and chocolate, cocoa, and nut notes. Preferred for espresso and French press.
